Words without Letters

"Words without Letters" are visualized deverbalized CDoupbles. They are stripped of the familiar written form they usually have and turned into images. As the word becomes a CDoupble, it no longer signifies what is stated in the dictionary or accepted in common knowledge; instead, it is enlarged into a scenario. "Words without Letters" are frames, still images from mini-theatre plays or peculiar object constellations in awkward situations, visualizing the darker, hidden side of words—one that very few are aware of.

They are conceptual explorations that delve into the invisible and the implied, where language meets the visual in unexpected ways. These works challenge the way we perceive words by stripping them of their traditional linguistic form, instead emphasizing the inherent meaning, symbolism, and associations that emerge.
The image of a mundane object, like a microwave, evolves into a CDoupble when the crow is inside it, as in "miCROWave”. It’s 12:32 in a modern, sleek kitchen, all in shades of grey, except for the green of the basil, which breaks the aseptic, high-end feeling of the lifestyle magazine kitchen where nobody cooks. The grey deepens in the shimmer of the black crow staring out from the microwave. The mystery radiates out of the profane symbol of fast-paced lifestyle. Is this black guest a bad omen, a messenger from the afterlife? And how did he manage to outwit the human and penetrate his sterile, organized high-tech kitchen?
This approach emphasizes the tension between absence and presence, the seen and the unseen. "Words without Letters" are visual poems that transcend the written form, instead evoking deep reflection through imagery, associations, and sensory experience. They reveal how words can exist in our minds and environments without being literally spelled out, allowing viewers to experience language in an intuitive, visceral manner.

My Blog
challengedgames.blogspot.co.at

The CHAlleNGED GAMES blog was conceived with the hope to stimulate divergence thinking and challenge the viewer to rethink one's routines and shift his/her perspective on the status quo.

The blog was initially  dedicated to the CHAlleNGED GAMES series and seeks for extended meaning in playing and its relation to aspects of human existence and production.

As with the time I started to experiment with another system - the language, to apply mathematical logic and seek patterns in words, in the last years my publications are mostly about this part of my work.

As a manner of artistic creation in many of my recent works I employ existing urban situations, objects, visuals, texts and just add often a small detail, which significantly changes their meaning and/or function.

St.art book includes art works in the period 2004-2010, some still in progress at the time and some as ideas developed during 2010. The selection is made to guide the viewer through an artistic process that lead to the birth of ideas such as Space NRGZers and Dadissuasori.

The book ends with a couple of blank pages, which are to e filled in with sketches and ideas for new works employing the same approach.
